| 1. Id: 178 Name: Daniel Goodacre Category: Session Musician Blurb: Daniel Felix Goodacre began his musical career at Tempe primary school when he formed the hit funk/hiprock band Flightpath. Now at age 23 he has developed into a greatly versatile musician and composer. He is the leader of the up and coming Afro-beat/reggae group Usutu who are currently recording their first album. He has played keyboards, trumpet and percussion with international and local African artists such as Vusi Masasela, Afro Moses, Asim Gorashi, Chris Gudu, Dereb Desalegn and Tichawe Mashawa. Goodacre also performed as a special guest with the great Spanish Harlem Orchestra when they toured Sydney. He has performed and recorded with top Australian jazz artists such as Simon Barker, Edvard Bronson, Elana Stone and Peter Farrar, as well as working with other up and coming groups/artists Watussi, Declan Kelly, Rappaport and Queen G of the Killer Queens. He has performed in Cuba at Havana’s most famous jazz club La Zorra y el Cuervo. He has also been a featured performer at the Sydney Opera House with Asim Gorashi Trio and has performed in the closing act at the Byron Bay Blues and Roots Festival 2006 in a tribute to Bob Marley. Daniel is currently finishing a bachelor of jazz performance at the Sydney Conservatorium and playing around town with Usutu, Club Havana, Dereb Desalegn, Merenia Gillies and Mamacita. |  |
